Charlie Mackesy : The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse

  CHARLIE  MACKESY. Charlie Mackesy : British artist, author of the book "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse" . Mackesy had been a cartoonist for "The Spectator" ( The oldest weekly British magazine in the world ), also an illustrator for Oxford University Press . Charlie also worked with Richard Curtis for "Comic Relief" . He was selected to work on Nelson Mandela's Unity Series Project, re-imagining Mandela's drawings. The book has sold over 1.4 million copies and spent 55 weeks on the Sunday Times bestseller's top ten lists. Charlie Mackesy was born and grew up in Northumberland, UK. He went to Radley College for a little while and Hexham Queen Elizabeth High School. He attempted university twice but left both within a week. Charlie spent three months in America with a portrait painter where he learned about lots of stuff. He first exhibited drawings in London, in the park gallery, also later on in New York, London, and in Edinburgh
